Portrait of Count A. A. Stroganov. Unknown artist. Mid-19th century. Size 81 x 61. The painting was damaged by hot steam - a breakthrough in the thermal system. The varnish coating is heavily destructured. Work was carried out to regenerate the varnish coating, and the stretcher was replaced and the deformations of the canvas were eliminated.

The painting was damaged by hot steam. On the reverse side, the surface is painted with white paint (in this case, chalk whitewash).There was also a chemical burn from applying alkaline glue (silicate) to the surface of the painting. During the restoration, the whitewash was removed from the reverse side, the lacquer coating was restored, and the alkaline medium was neutralized. The subframe was repaired, the edges were duplicated, dirt was removed and the loss of soil and paint layer was replenished
